This Blueberry Kale Breakfast Smoothie is mom made & kid-approved. Light, refreshing, and full of natural vitamins, it is a perfect start to your day.
Since the beginning of summer, the start of the farmer’s market, and the cheaper prices on the produce we have been on a smoothie kick. Trying out a variety of flavors picking our favorites to repeat throughout the week. A breakfast smoothie is perfect for the kids, right before swim team, swim lessons, dance, baseball or any other activity we have in the morning. We are blueberry fans so I knew this one would go over well.
The first day of embarking on this smoothie journey, my kids cried, moaned, pouted and whined more than I have ever heard. I was an evil mother trying to make them healthy. I guess if having them drink their veggies with their favorite fruit, then yes, I am the Maleficent of breakfast. There are two that they totally loved! Shockingly they both include kale, the most disgusting vegetable of all (according to my kids).
I love this shake, light, refreshing and full of vitamins, a great way to start any day.
Enjoy! XOXO San & kids

I like adding spinach to my smoothies but have yet to try kale, I’m afraid I’ll get the bitterness through the fruit!

High-five for sneaking in veggies to your kid’s breakfasts. When I have babies, I know I’ll be doing the same thing because, well, I do this to myself every morning. 😉 Fresh fruits from the farmer’s market is the best, huh?
