Ingredients

  • 20 Rhodes Rolls frozen
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage cooked and cooled to room temp
  • 1/2 pound pepperoni slices
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Optional

  • 1/2 cup diced green pepper
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup diced purple onion
  • fresh garlic
  • marinara sauce for dipping homemade is best (recipe below), but canned is fine

Instructions

  • Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking oil.
  • Place the frozen Rhodes rolls in pan in 5 rows of 4 rolls, leaving space for rising.
  • Take pepperoni slices and place in between the frozen rolls, and a few on top if you like. Then toss cooked Italian sausage on top of the rolls, make sure that the sausage is cooled completely.
  • Add additional toppings if you desire, then sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups of the shredded mozzarella cheese; make sure that the cheese is in between the rolls, not just on top.
  • Then sprinkle the 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning evenly over the rolls and toppings.
  • Cover with a dry kitchen towel, and let them rise 3-5 hours.
  • Once the rolls have risen, pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese over the rolls, then place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. Here is my recipe for homemade marinara.

Notes

Note the rolls require 3-5 hours to rise.
