This Waffle Cone Sundae Ice Cream Cake has all the classic sundae ingredients layered into an insanely delicious treat.

Waffle cones, nuts, ice cream, whipped cream, maraschino cherries, and homemade hot fudge. Dive on into this cake as one bite just won’t cut it. Trust me.

Since starting my blog 18 months ago, my kids have drawn up their birthday cakes and requested me to not only make them but to blog about them as well. I never thought it was that big of a deal until my daughter, Jersey, wrote about it at school. I then realized how much it really meant to all of them.

My oldest, Aiden, just turned 12 this month {crying}. The preteen years are here and well, in full swing {sigh}. While I am no longer cool and have become incredibly stupid overnight, he on the other turn knows everything and is willing to teach me {thankfully} all that he knows.

All in all – really I have the best kid. He is kind, caring, smart, nurturing, understanding, and the best example to me, his dad, and his siblings. While my hugs and kisses may embarrass him, he still needs them and occasionally wants them too.

He is a gem, a no-stop talker, loves science, math, robots, drones, and thirst for knowledge. If the next 12 years are anything like the last 12, I will consider myself lucky.

This Waffle Cone Sundae Ice Cream Cake is Aiden’s birthday cake creation. He came up with the idea and well, how could I resist? Ice cream, fudge, and waffle cones?! He loves to use cookie dough ice cream for the center, but for nostalgic sundae sake, we used classic vanilla.

Check out how easy this cake is to make. Just layer upon layer of ice cream sundae yumminess.

With summer right around the corner, this Waffle Cone Sundae Ice Cream Cake is just perfect to make for any occasion. And don’t overcomplicate it, this cake is easy to make!

So cheers to birthdays, and ice cream. Happy birthday Aiden, I love you! XOXO Mom

  2. I assume from the picture that you add additional nuts that at the end, when you top with the remaining fudge sauce, cherry and whipped cream t That is how it looks, and what a traditional hot fudge sundae would have. Am I correct in this? Unless I totally missed it,I do not see that referenced at the end.

  3. Did I miss it in the directions? I assume from the picture that you also use additional chopped nuts at the time ou top with the cherry and shipped cream? How much nuts?
