Our family game night is quite competitive. Usually, while it is all in good fun, there are two things I can guarantee: a winner and tears! We all, yes all 7 of us, want to win. While there are some who are more competitive than others – like my husband and daughter Jersey – the whole night is filled with laughter, jokes, and the occasional meltdown.

We hold game nights pretty often, like tonight, which features my son Madden and husband playing HASBRO® Jenga, Madden’s all-time favorite game.Millionaire Brownies game

I’m watching right now as they’ve switched from blowing in each other’s ears to a toes-only game. The kids also love building a fort and playing a Classic Monopoly marathon. We love to twist it up and add color coordinating M&M’s® to the Monopoly properties, so if someone buys that property, they get a tasty M&M® bonus. This makes even Mediterranean and Baltic equally valuable and a little more tempting for those money hoarders like my daughter, Jojo.

How do you make Millionaire Brownies?

In a microwavable bowl, melt butter on high for 1 minute. Add in chocolate chips and heat in intervals for 30 seconds, stirring in between intervals. Repeat until completely melted, smooth and combined – about 1 1/2 – 2 minutes. Set aside.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and prepare large 17×10 baking sheet by spraying with cooking oil. Set aside. If you want to use a 9×9 pan, halve the recipe.

In a small mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, add sugar and brown sugar. Slowly mix in chocolate and butter mixture, and then the vanilla until well incorporated. Add in one egg at a time, beating in between each addition.
Gently stir in the flour mixture and fold in M&M’s®, Peanut Butter M&M’s®, and Pretzel M&M’s®.
Pour the Millionaire brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Place in oven and bake for 35-38 minutes or until the brownies start to pull away from the edges of the pan, check at 30 minutes to see how they are doing. I always pull mine out at 35 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the center of the brownies; it should come out with a few moist “crumbs”. At this point, it is done.

Set brownies aside to completely cool.

Once cooled, prepare frosting.

In a microwave-safe bowl add butter, cover, and heat for 1 minute.

Add in buttermilk and cocoa and heat for 2 minutes stirring every 30 seconds.

Add in powdered sugar and heat for 1 minute, stirring every 30 seconds. Quickly stir in vanilla and pour over frosting, if frosting started to stiffen with the vanilla heat for another 30 seconds, then pour on brownies.

It is possible to overcook the frosting, so be sure to heat according to directions.
