Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Dippers, marshmallows dipped in chocolate and red, white and green spinkles, wrapped in a clear bag with red ribbon and a packet of hot chocolate mix

When one of your kids’ former teachers and now one of your dear friends calls and asks you to make a treat for the rest of the teachers at your kids’ school, you do not turn her down! Oh no, you do not. Simply for two reasons: you need to butter her up because she still will have 4 more of your kids, two of them being Madden and Cannon…oh dear, pray for her. Secondly, well she is an educator and it is near Christmas break…need I say more?!

Earlier in the week, I came across this adorable idea on one of my new friend Catharine’s blog, Our Mini Family. (Check her out, so many cute ideas.)
So I decided to pair this cute marshmallow stick with a packet of hot chocolate, to make a simple treat with some holiday flare that is friendly to your budget. Happy Holidays!

How do you make Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Dippers?

  • In a microwave bowl, heat chocolate for 30 seconds and stir. Repeat the process until chocolate has melted. Approximately 1 1/2 minutes. Let it stand while you insert sticks into the marshmallows, pushing them 3/4 of the way into the marshmallow. Make sure not to poke all the way through. Lay out a 9×13 piece of wax paper.

  • Quickly dip the marshmallow into the chocolate, tap on the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate. Dip into sprinkles. Set it top side down onto wax paper.

  • Once the chocolate has hardened, place in a candy bag and tie.
  • Place on top of hot chocolate packet and wrap with Christmas ribbon.

Kid’s reviews: They obliged to eat all the “extras”…thank goodness what would have I done? And are so excited to take them to school.
