STIR CRAZY: The $30 investment for this is well worth it! It’s so much easier than the stovetop and won’t burn! We use ours almost daily.

MIXING BOWLS: I love having a variety of sizes of mixing bowls. From small to large, I find that having at least 3 bowls of different sizes has been essential in my kitchen. I prefer Pyrex because of its durability.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup popcorn
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

Stir Crazy Instructions

  • Plug in the Stir Crazy
  • Pour in the oil and add popcorn
  • Wait a minute or two then add the sugar evenly over the popcorn kernels
  • Place lid on the Stir Crazy and wait for all kernels to be popped.
  • Unplug and turn over stir crazy – add salt to taste.
  • Let it stand for a few minutes before serving.

Stovetop Instructions

  • Pour the oil and corn kernels in a large pot over med-high heat (make sure you use one that has a tight-fitting lid).
  • Place the lid on top of the pot and mix it around a few times directly on burner.
  • Open lid and sprinkle sugar around kernels. Replace lid and shake the pot in circular motion on the burner, until you hear the kernels start to pop.
  • Continue to shake in a circular motion while the kernels are popping until they are all completely popped. Remove from heat, add salt to taste. I like to pour the kettle corn on the counter to cool, with this method, so it doesn’t stick to the pan.

Notes

TIP: Trust me, the $25 investment for the Stir Crazy is well worth it! Check it out here.

My review: I love this recipe. I like to add a little more sugar to it as well as a pinch of cinnamon.

Kids review: Jordan, 8 years had it featured at her birthday party this year – that is how much she loves it. They all love it and fight over holding the big red bowl which is what I usually serve this tasty treat in. To solve this matter we typically have to break out cups for them each to have their own.
