These cookie dough bites are a no-bake dessert that is so easy to make. They are made with edible cookie dough and can be served plain or dipped in chocolate. Either way, they are irresistible.

These cookie dough bites are delectable sweet treats that are easier than making a batch of chocolate chip cookies, but just as satisfying. If you love edible cookie dough you will love them.

We are no strangers to cookie dough around here and love making Peanut Butter Cookie Dough BitesSnickerdoodle Cookie Dough Bites, and Funfetti Sugar Cookie Dough Bites.

But for the edible chocolate chip cookie dough, all credit goes to my daughter, Jersey, for the sweet recipe. She loves to make them and, at this point, has perfected the recipe.

They are sweet, sinfully rich, and melt in your mouth. They are like a cookie met a truffle to make a delicious, sweet bite. And that’s what you get with these cookie dough bites.

Easy Edible Cookie Dough

  • This recipe is as simple as making chocolate chip cookie dough without eggs. Leaving the eggs out keeps these bites safe to eat.
  • You only need one bowl. Then, you mix, scoop, and chill the dough balls. It’s so easy.
  • When feeling fancy, we dip them in chocolate for a special touch. This is especially nice if you plan to give them away. We also love them plain.
  • They are best when cold from the refrigerator and keep well for up to five days.
  • Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

I use a 3/4″ cookie scoop to make the balls so they are all the same size. You can scoop a heaping tablespoon if you don’t have a cookie scoop.

The best way to form them is to pack them in the dough, remove them from the scooper or tablespoon, and place them on the prepared pan.

You can also roll them into balls, but they sometimes fall apart quickly if I press too hard. Place the pan in the refrigerator for the bites to chill for approximately 10 minutes.

Decorate with the chocolate however you like. I like to dip the tops in chocolate and then sprinkle them with mini-colored chocolate chips.

The kids like a drizzle, which is easy to do by placing the melted chocolate in a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped off and topping it off with a few sprinkles. My daughter, Jersey, loves them plainly.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites

Ingredients
 

  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup powder sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup dark melting chocolate I like Ghiradelli's hardening chocolate

Instructions
 

  • In a medium-sized bowl, sift together brown sugar, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, flour, and cornstarch. Beat in melted butter and vanilla extract until it starts to come together, the dough will resemble coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in mini chocolate chips.
  • Mix until dough slightly sticks together, but it will still look crumbly.
  • Add in milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it is easier to work with and you get the consistency you want.
  • Scoop a heaping tablespoon, pack in the dough, then remove from the scooper or tablespoon and place on prepared pan. You can also roll them into balls, but I find sometimes the balls fall apart easily if I press too hard. Place pan in the refrigerator for the bites to chill, approximately 10 minutes.
  • While the dough is chilling, melt chocolate according to package directions. I heat in 30 second intervals, until chocolate is completely melted.
  • Decorate with the chocolate how you could like, I like to dip the tops in, then sprinkle with mini-colored chocolate chips. The kids like a light drizzle which is easy to do by placing the melted chocolate in a

  • Once the bites are drizzled, covered or dipped in chocolate and finished off with sprinkles allow chocolate to sit and harden.
  • Now they are ready to enjoy!
  • To store the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites place in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

  1. Not sure about the brown sugar…it says “6 tablespoons cup brown sugar.” Is that a typo or is it 1 cup PLUS 6 tablespoons?

  2. When I made these my dough did not crumble I mixed it exactly like it says and it turned into a actual dough like substance not crumble. DID I MESS UP SOMEWHERE? ?????

    1. It looks to me like you could adjust this recipe replacing some ingredients to make this a Ketogenic Diet friendly recipe. Erythritol and coconut sugars, almond and cleaning coconut flours, cream for milk, sugar free chocolate chips, etc.

  5. I just made this recipe. I followed it exactly how was stated. I read the comments and how someone’s dough came out more like dough and not crumbly. You have to just incorporate the ingredients until they become just “crumbly” if you mix to long it will turn into “dough”. I only needed 1 Tbls of milk and gently mixed. I used a small cookie scoop and put them in the fridge while I melted the chocolate chips. They came out great. Yes they are sweet because that is the whole point , it’s cookie dough bites. This recipe was very easy and delicious. I will be making them again

  7. Well, we’ve all seen the “Overnight Oats” craze. It surprised me to learn that you don’t have to cook rolled oats in order for them to be edible, so a lot of “bliss ball” recipes use food processor ground rolled oats. I can’t believe the recipe here doesn’t call for toasting the flour for safety reasons! Because many times, I have seen warnings on bags of flour in the States, “do not eat raw flour!”
    But oats are steam processed, and safer.
