I love easy snacks. I mean, who doesn’t?

Here is the key to my family and making snacks, we need to have a variety. But I hate having 5 bags of different things out – from chips to crackers, licorice, M&M’s, and whatever else. It just gets to be overwhelming. And if we want to head out for the day on the lake or on a hike up in the mountains, I am not going to be carrying around 5 different snacks bags of stuff.  I am sure every parent out there knows what I mean.

I made a Horsetooth Trail Mix after being inspired by my friend Sarah and her Bear Lake Trail Mix. The Horsetooth Trail Mix was a huge hit but I wanted something a little more salty in it and then, of course, you can’t go wrong with M&M’s in anything, am I right? So I mixed up one of our favorite trail mixes and guess what? This Chimney Peak Trail Mix was a hit.

I came up with the Chimney Peak name because, well, we live in CO and love to hike. My kids are always naming mountains and peaks – even when we are on the road in other places. Somehow every pointy peak is Chimney Peak. So while we don’t live near the real Chimney Peak in CA. To me I will always remember the time when my kids were little and named any long pointy peak – Chimney Peak. Memories like this I love that I can share here so that I remember it 20 years from now. Enjoy friends! XOXO San
