Candy Corn Rice Krispies Treats
My family loves Halloween! Besides the obvious candy, my kids love getting dressed up in their favorite characters and I love getting their costumes ready. I am not that crafty, so Amazon comes in very handy this time of year.

My favorite thing about Halloween is our family tradition of a chili dinner with Halloween Cornbread. Since my husband hates chili with beans, we always go over to my parent’s house for this dinner and my husband grabs a hamburger on the way over. We eat dinner at my parent’s house then head over to my sister’s neighborhood to Trick-or-Treat with all the kids. It is one of my favorite traditions.

My second favorite tradition around Halloween is my mom’s candy corn and peanut mix that she has on the table all month long. While I am not the biggest candy corn fan, I love it mixed with peanuts. That is what inspired these fun Halloween treats. And guess what? It is so simple to make.

How do you make Candy Corn Rice Krispies Treats?

In large saucepan melt butter over low-medium heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Immediately remove from heat.

Add in the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.

Take about half of the Rice Krispie treats and add them into a large mixing bowl mix in 2 drops red food color and 3 drops of yellow food coloring. Combine the cereal and the food coloring together until it becomes orange.

Take the remaining half and remove 1/3 of the Rice Krispie treats, just eyeball it again. Set aside in a small bowl. With the remaining 2/3 and add in 2-3 drops of yellow, mix together until well combined and add in more food coloring if needed to get the right color of yellow.

Divide each of the colors into three sections.

Add one section of the yellow to the bottom of a 9×13 pan, press to make it into the smooth row. Place a section of the orange and press into the yellow, making a smooth even row of orange. Add in the white and press down into the orange and make it a smooth, even line. Repeat with the same pattern, yellow, orange, and white until all the Rice Krispies treats are gone.

Using a candy corn cookie cutter cut out candy corn Rice Krispies treats from the pan. Or cut into triangles and smooth the corners of the triangle to make it more candy corn shaped. With the remaining Rice Krispies Treats, just cut into decorative squares, or you can reshape to make more “candy corn”.

Serve immediately, best if served the same day. Enjoy!
